SampliTools - read the fairytale
about working faster |
||||||
| Chapter one: Ban those audio sampling CDs! | ||||||
| So, you've just got hands on that brand new sampling CD in audio format. The track one demo sounded fantastic, but in the end you recognized you are barely using that jewel! Why? In the beginning, you tried to use some samples, but every time you managed to even find a suitable sound (by listening through 90% of the CD), you had to record the whole track to your PC and rip the sample out in a wave editor. This is definitely not intuitive! If there just were a solution... There is one! | ||||||
| Chapter two: I want AKAI, yes I do! | ||||||
| Now, all those pro-quality samples seem to be in AKAI format. But you're not the hardware sampler type. You want to use WAV samples within your audio sequencer, because it's flexible. You got this amazing soundcard which reads SoundFont™ banks. You want to have top quality sounds, but these are mostly AKAI... Now you can have it! | ||||||
| Chapter three: My sampler's display is as large as a post stamp! | ||||||
| So you got that powerful sampler, standing there with roaring engines, waiting to be fed with sounds. Which is what you want to do! But then you notice that searching through your sounds is not really that much fun, because it takes ages for the sampler to load a CD and display it's contents on it's 4" wide display. If you only could browse the contents of that sampling CD more comfortably... And you can! | ||||||
| Chapter four: I got tons of samples, but I somehow lost the overwiew?!? | ||||||
| Your latest song is going to be brilliant, but there is something missing... You know there must be this perfectly fitting drumloop somewhere. Maybe on one of your CDs... But you really don't want to check them all now! Just being in the most creative mood! Maybe you have a WAV or AIFF sample somewhere on your hard disk? But where? Should you check your AKAI CDs? Or your audio ones? Maybe another drumloop wouldn't fit that good; perhaps you'd be better off with bongos? It seems you're lost... No, you are not! | ||||||
